Bank Special School Nurse | Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Special School Nursing Team within the Borough of Barnet on a temporary bank basis for the final half term of the academic year.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Special School Nurse (Band 6) who is looking to develop their skills within the largest community healthcare trust in London.

The Special School Nursing Team is looking for a caring individual to work as part of a supportive team providing care for children and young people aged 4–19 years with a range of learning disabilities and complex health needs. The nursing team works closely with education professionals and other agencies to ensure that children achieve their full potential within the school environment.

This is a temporary, part-time, term-time only bank position for the final half term of the academic year. The successful candidate will normally work four days per week; however, there may be opportunities to work a fifth day in some weeks, subject to service needs and requirements.

You will be an experienced registered nurse, qualified in children's nursing, adult nursing, or learning disability nursing, with up-to-date clinical skills in caring for children with complex health needs. This may include supporting children with epilepsy, enteral feeding requirements, and the administration of medications.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be flexible in meeting the needs of the children and the service, and possess strong organisational abilities. You will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and be confident in delivering training and support to school staff and carers.
