Priory Hospital Solihull has an opportunity for a Ward Manager in Mental Health Nursing to join our team.

Priory Hospital Solihull, Meriden, Warwickshire is a 31-bedded level 2 rehabilitation service for males supporting the NHS. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus services and nearby train stations providing links into Coventry and Birmingham. The hospital is also well connected by road, with the M6 and M42 approximately 10 minutes away and wider access to the M40 and M1 motorways.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to supporting people's wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.

You will provide clinical leadership and oversee the day-to-day running of our ward. You will lead and support the nursing team, ensure high standards of patient care, manage staffing and compliance, and promote a positive, safe, and compassionate environment for patients and colleagues alike.

You will be required to participate in the hospital on-call rota.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role

  • An experienced Mental Health Nurse with at least two years leadership experience within a relevant mental health or care setting.
  • Demonstrable experience working as a Registered Mental Health Nurse within a relevant clinical setting.
  • Experience supervising nursing or care staff.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Trained Assessor/Supervisor (or willingness to achieve).
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to provide effective clinical leadership and support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Willingness to undertake further clinical, leadership and management training relevant to the role and area of practice.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a clinical environment.

The following experience would be beneficial

  • Experience of clinical audit and/or evidence-based service improvement is desirable.
