Design Technology Teacher – Role and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.

• Teach students how to develop design ideas, produce prototypes and evaluate finished products.

• Deliver practical activities that develop students' making skills and technical understanding.

• Ensure students follow health and safety procedures when using tools, equipment and materials.

• Differentiate lessons to support students with a range of abilities and learning needs.

• Assess coursework and practical projects, providing feedback to improve outcomes.

• Maintain a safe, organised and purposeful workshop environment.

• Work with colleagues to develop resources, schemes of work and assessment materials.

• Encourage creativity, independent thinking and practical problem-solving.
