Learning Support Mentor – Specialist Educational Setting in Coventry

Working hours : Full-time, term time only
Contract : Permanent (subject to successful probation)
Weekly Salary : £450 to £475

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with a wide range of additional needs? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Mentor to join a dynamic and nurturing educational community.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a highly inclusive school environment that places the wellbeing and development of each individual student at the heart of everything that they do. We work with pupils who have a range of complex needs including vision impairments, autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, and medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students in and out of the classroom to access their learning and achieve their potential.

• Work closely with teachers and other professionals to adapt and implement individual education plans.

• Build positive and trusting relationships with students, promoting their confidence, independence, and resilience.

• Assist with the delivery of both academic and social learning activities tailored to individual abilities.

• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and therapeutic interventions.

What We’re Looking For

• A commitment to inclusive education and a strong belief in the potential of every learner.

• A flexible, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young people.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• A minimum of GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).

• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential—comprehensive training and ongoing CPD will be provided.

Essential Requirements

• An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service , or willingness to apply for one before starting the role.

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
