Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £42,500 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)

About the Role
We’re looking for an inspiring and ambitious SENCo to join our school and play a pivotal role in ensuring every pupil is understood, supported and given the opportunity to succeed.
This is a role for someone who wants to make a visible, lasting difference. You’ll have the opportunity to influence whole-school practice, champion inclusive education and work alongside a dedicated team to create personalised pathways that help pupils overcome barriers and recognise their strengths.
You won’t be doing this alone. You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, pastoral colleagues, senior leaders, families and external professionals bringing people together around one shared goal: helping every pupil thrive.
What you'll be doing
Lead the SEND vision across the school, driving high-quality, personalised provision
Influence whole-school practice, helping staff develop their confidence and expertise in supporting pupils with additional needs
Make a measurable difference by evaluating interventions, analysing progress and ensuring support has genuine impact
Lead and oversee EHCPs, Annual Reviews, provision mapping and statutory SEND processes
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, pastoral teams and senior leaders to create effective, joined-up support
Develop strong partnerships with parents, carers, Local Authorities and external professionals
Coach and empower colleagues, helping to build an inclusive culture where every member of staff understands how to support SEND pupils effectively
About you
We’re looking for someone who combines SEND expertise with genuine passion, leadership and ambition.
QTS or QTLS is desirable, alongside the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO), or a willingness to complete this within three years.
A Thrive Practitioner qualification is desirable, or you’ll be supported to undertake the training.
Believes passionately that every young person can make progress when given the right support
Has experience working in education and understands the needs of pupils requiring additional support
Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation
Is experienced in leading SEND provision or contributing to whole-school improvement
Builds trusting and effective relationships with pupils, families and professionals
Is passionate about developing others and improving the quality of inclusive teaching
Driving licence is required
About Us
Miller House School is a brand-new school located in Stoneygate, Leicester. The school opened in September 2025, has a capacity of 80 pupils, and offers a co-educational provision for students with complex needs, including SEMH.
Miller House School is a specialist SEMH setting for young people aged 11–16. We are committed to supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, as well as autism and ADHD. Our safe and nurturing environment ensures every child is heard, seen, and supported to thrive.
