SEN Teaching Assistant - Lincoln
We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Lincoln, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with pupils who have a range of additional needs, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and thrive both academically and socially.
The school has a strong ethos of inclusion, collaboration, and high expectations. Staff work together to ensure that every pupil receives the support they need. Leadership is approachable and committed to staff development and wellbeing.
The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with individuals and small groups of pupils to support their learning, social skills, and engagement in class. You will help implement individualised strategies, support interventions, and monitor progress to ensure pupils achieve their potential.
You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and colleagues to provide consistent support across the school. Effective communication with parents and carers will also be an important aspect of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with special educational needs in class and during interventions
Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and targeted strategies
Observe and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCo
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
Encourage independence and positive learning behaviours
Collaborate effectively with teachers and colleagues
Communicate with parents and carers where appropriate
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment
