We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Lincoln, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with pupils who have a range of additional needs, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and thrive both academically and socially.

The school has a strong ethos of inclusion, collaboration, and high expectations. Staff work together to ensure that every pupil receives the support they need. Leadership is approachable and committed to staff development and wellbeing.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with individuals and small groups of pupils to support their learning, social skills, and engagement in class. You will help implement individualised strategies, support interventions, and monitor progress to ensure pupils achieve their potential.

You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and colleagues to provide consistent support across the school. Effective communication with parents and carers will also be an important aspect of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with special educational needs in class and during interventions

  • Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and targeted strategies

  • Observe and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCo

  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development

  • Encourage independence and positive learning behaviours

  • Collaborate effectively with teachers and colleagues

  • Communicate with parents and carers where appropriate

  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development

  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school setting

  • Be compassionate, patient, and adaptable

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Be proactive, organised, and reflective

  • Show a commitment to inclusion and safeguarding

  • Work effectively as part of a supportive team

What the School Offers

  • Supportive and experienced SEN team

  • Well-resourced classrooms and intervention areas

  • Opportunities for professional development and CPD

  • Leadership that values staff wellbeing

  • Engaged pupils and a positive school culture

  • A welcoming and inclusive school community

Location

The school is based in Lincoln, with good transport links and a friendly local community. Staff benefit from a professional, supportive, and inclusive working environment.
