Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Specialist Pharmacist to join our team, delivering clinical pharmacy services within the RRCV (Renal, Respiratory, Cardiology, Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU), Vascular and Specialist Surgery) Clinical Management Group (3 days per week) alongside an exciting opportunity to work as a Teacher Practitioner at De Montfort University (2 days per week). The post-holder will provide clinical pharmacy input within RRCV, supporting safe, effective and patient-centred use of medicines across inpatient and outpatient settings, in line with the Specialist Pharmacist role. Alongside this, the post offers a funded opportunity to contribute to the delivery of undergraduate pharmacy education at De Montfort University, supporting teaching, learning and student development. This unique split post combines clinical practice and education, offering the opportunity to develop skills in teaching, training and professional development while maintaining a strong clinical presence within a specialist service. Based primarily at Glenfield Hospital. Join our dynamic RRCV pharmacy team and take advantage of a structured rotational programme across five specialist areas: Renal, Respiratory, Cardiology, Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU), Vascular and Specialist Surgery. Each rotation lasts six months, giving you the chance to develop broad, in-depth expertise. You will be fully supported to progress both clinically and professionally, working closely with experienced specialist pharmacists and an engaged multidisciplinary team. Teacher Practitioner (De Montfort University)
Contribute to the delivery of undergraduate pharmacy teaching, supporting the development of clinical knowledge, skills and professionalism in pharmacy students. Facilitate teaching sessions, workshops and clinical skills training aligned to the MPharm programme. Support student learning in clinical practice, acting as a role model and linking clinical experience to academic learning. Work collaboratively with university staff and Trust colleagues to support integration of clinical practice and education. Shared Responsibilities Across the Role

Training & Qualifications
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in pharmacy
- Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Post-graduate certificate in Clinical Pharmacy / Pharmacy practice or evidence of equivalent clinical experience
- Working towards completion of a Post graduate Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy/ Pharmacy practice
- Evidence of post registration commitment to continuing professional development
- Registered as an Independent Prescriber or ability to complete training upon appointment
- Approaching 2 years (minimum) post-registration experience in pharmacy practice with relevant clinical experience
- Sound current clinical knowledge
- Team player
- Evidence of verbal presentations made to professional groups
- Evidence of communication skills, verbal/written. Good interpersonal and communication
- Assertive and enthusiastic
- Able to supervise other Pharmacists
