Self Employed Bookkeeper (Part-time)

Brook Street are working with a highly reputable business in Whitchurch who are looking to hire a meticulous and detail orientated Bookkeeper. This is a part time role, working Fridays and any other day in the week flexibly. This role also offers a 50/50 Hybrid split.

You will manage day‑to‑day financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. This role suits someone who is detail‑driven, reliable, and comfortable working independently in a professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices, payments, and receipts with accuracy.
• Maintain up‑to‑date reconciled bank records using accounting software (e.g., Osprey).
• Maintain organised, compliant financial records for all transactions.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing procedures.
• Communicate with external auditors and clients regarding financial matters.
• Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Ensure all bookkeeping activity meets legal and financial standards.
• Support the practice in maintaining efficient bookkeeping workflows.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, reconciliation techniques, and financial controls.
• Proficiency with accounting software (Osprey or similar).
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.
