A welcoming and successful Primary School in Shrewsbury is seeking a dependable and hardworking Caretaker to join its premises team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys working within a school environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that the school site remains safe, secure, clean and well-maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.

The role will involve carrying out a wide range of site management and maintenance duties. You will be responsible for opening and closing the school site, conducting routine inspections and ensuring that all buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard.

Daily responsibilities will include carrying out minor repairs, monitoring site security, supporting health and safety compliance, assisting with deliveries and ensuring that classrooms, communal areas and external spaces remain safe and presentable.

You will work closely with the Headteacher, School Business Manager and external contractors to ensure that maintenance issues are identified and resolved promptly. The successful candidate will also support the preparation of school events, room setups and occasional emergency maintenance tasks.

The school is seeking an individual who is practical, reliable and capable of working independently. A proactive attitude, strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to maintaining a positive environment for pupils and staff are essential.
