SEND Case Officer – Thurrock
Pay rate: £169.13 per day
Contract: Locum
Working arrangement: Hybrid – 2 days office-based, 3 days remote

Pertemps Social Care are currently recruiting for a SEND Case Officer to join a local authority team in Thurrock on a locum basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking and delivering SEND casework efficiently and effectively, ensuring Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments, Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and annual reviews are completed to a high standard and within statutory timescales.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
• Act as the named officer for allocated children and young people.
• Coordinate EHC needs assessments and the development of EHCPs.
• Manage and complete annual reviews within statutory timescales.
• Work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools and other professionals.
• Ensure accurate and timely case recording and documentation.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with families and key professionals.
• Ensure all SEND casework is managed in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and statutory requirements.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a SEND Case Officer or within a similar SEND/EHCP role.
• Strong knowledge of the EHCP process and statutory SEND timescales.
• Experience managing a caseload and coordinating annual reviews.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with families, schools and multidisciplinary professionals.
