CRA Consulting is delighted to be working with a highly regarded specialist law firm to recruit an experienced Private Client Solicitor (3+ PQE) to join its leading Leeds-based Private Client team.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of one of the largest and most respected private client departments outside of London, acting for high-net-worth individuals, families, trustees and personal representatives on complex and high-value matters. The team enjoys an outstanding reputation within the legal market and is recognised in the leading legal directories for the quality of its work.

The Opportunity
Joining a collaborative and supportive team, you will advise long-standing clients on a broad range of sophisticated private client matters. The role offers exposure to technically challenging work alongside genuine opportunities for career progression within a firm known for investing in its people.

Key Responsibilities
Your caseload will include:

• Administration of complex and high-value estates.
• Advising on estates involving agricultural property, business assets, overseas interests and intestacy.
• Meeting with personal representatives and beneficiaries to provide practical legal advice throughout the estate administration process.
• Preparing applications for Grants of Representation.
• Drafting detailed Inheritance Tax accounts and estate information returns.
• Managing HMRC correspondence and enquiries.
• Preparing comprehensive estate accounts.
• Advising on inheritance tax liabilities and post-death tax planning opportunities.
• Drafting and advising on Deeds of Variation and Deeds of Disclaimer.
• Advising clients on succession planning, trusts and asset protection.
• Advising on Agricultural Property Relief, Business Property Relief and wider capital tax planning.
• Creating, administering and varying trusts.
• Managing Trust Registration Service compliance.
• Drafting Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts and Letters of Wishes.
• Advising on estate planning strategies, including the use of life insurance within trust structures.

About You

• Qualified Solicitor with 3+ years' PQE in Private Client.
• Strong experience handling estate administration and private client matters.
• Excellent technical knowledge of inheritance tax and succession planning.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
• STEP qualification or working towards STEP would be advantageous but is not essential.
