SEN Teacher (PGCE & QTS Required)

Salary: £140-£190 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Full-Time / Flexible A welcoming and supportive SEN school in Blyth, Northumberland is seeking a passionate SEN Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This SEN Teacher role is ideal for an enthusiastic educator who holds both a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and is committed to delivering high-quality teaching to pupils with a range of additional needs. The successful SEN Teacher will work with pupils who may have ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs, communication difficulties and complex learning needs. As an SEN Teacher , you will create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment where every pupil is supported academically, socially and emotionally to achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teacher: * Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs. * Teaching pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). * Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment. * Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress. * Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and targeted interventions. * Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and independence. * Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external professionals. * Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare. The Ideal SEN Teacher Will: * Hold a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential). * Have experience teaching pupils with SEN within a UK school setting. * Have a strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive teaching practices. * Be patient, adaptable and committed to achieving positive outcomes for every pupil. * Have excellent classroom management and communication skills. * Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply). * Have a fully checkable work history.
