The Venue

Situated in the heart of Nottingham, the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall is one of our liveliest and most vibrant venues, hosting incredible shows, performances and events regularly- from West End Musicals to Comedy to Concerts to Opera- the venue host's it all!

The Role

As F&B Manager at Nottingham Theatre, you’ll oversee the day-to-day food and beverage operations across show days and conferences and events (C&E). From managing Yarn Bar, to overseeing the various foyer bars, you’ll lead your team to deliver excellent service, maintain high standards and ensure a smooth-running operation, creating a great experience for every guest.

The Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day food and beverage operations across show days, conferences and events (C&E).
• Manage the operation of Yarn Bar, including its base hospitality offerings, alongside the theatre’s foyer bars.
• Lead, motivate and develop the team to deliver excellent customer service.
• Ensure all bars and hospitality areas are fully prepared and ready for service.
• Manage staffing levels, rotas and resource planning to meet operational requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, health and safety, cleanliness and presentation.
• Monitor stock levels, deliveries, wastage and cash handling procedures.
• Ensure service runs smoothly and efficiently during busy performances and events.
• Work closely with the wider venue and events teams to coordinate hospitality requirements.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve any service issues professionally.
• Support the achievement of sales targets and manage costs to maximise profitability.
• Ensure all team members follow company policies, procedures and service standards.
• Assist with training and onboarding new team members, promoting a positive working environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, operational efficiency and the overall guest experience.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a food and beverage management or supervisory role.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent customer service skills and a passion for delivering great guest experiences.
• Experience managing busy bar operations, ideally within a theatre, events or hospitality environment.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A good understanding of food safety, health and safety, and licensing requirements.
• Commercial awareness, with experience managing stock, costs and sales performance.
• A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and show days.
• Must be able to travel to and from the venue reliably and be accessible to the venue for operational requirements.
• A proactive, hands-on approach, with the confidence to lead from the front during busy services.
