The role:

You will be expected, where necessary, to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde North Sector to achieve the needs of the service. As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current NMC/HCPC registration will be required prior to the start date. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• Full-time, permanent
• 24/7 rotational post
• Based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary
• There is an expectation to rotate to Stobhill Day Surgery
• The shift pattern is 12 hours with occasional Twilight shifts if suitable and a flexible rotation to nights and weekends

Key responsibilities:

• As a Band 6 Recovery post, there is an expectation to provide expert care and advice to the team. There is also an expectation to look after level 2 and 3 patients
• You will need to possess the skill set and training to perform mentorship to new starters and students and participate in Staff development and Turas
• You are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service which presently runs over a 7-day week in some Theatres and Recovery, depending on hospital site
• As a band 6 practitioner, you will support the Team Leaders and SCN within the department and be aware of NHS policies and guidelines and ensure the team adhere to such

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• You should be current in your ILS training and have completed NHS recovery competencies
• Those with an NES Anaesthetic course will be considered if associated recovery skill set within the NHS setting.
• You should have a current NMC PIN or a registered ODP and recognised experience within NHS Recovery Theatre Departments.
• The ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of an integrated team is required.
• You will be provided with development and management programmes and further education to meet your Turas requirements
