Graduate Accountant - Full Time  |  Ballymena 

 

This role offers an excellent foundation for an aspiring accountant looking to develop their career within a successful manufacturing organisation. You will gain hands-on experience across a wide range of finance activities while working alongside experienced professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment.

  • Location: Ballymena Area
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (40 hours per week)
  • Department: Finance & Accounts
  • Reports to: Finance Manager

The Opportunity

  • Our client, a well-established and successful manufacturing business, is seeking a motivated Graduate Accountant to join their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting or finance graduate to begin their career within a fast-paced commercial environment, gaining exposure to management accounting, financial reporting, costing and business analysis.
  • The successful candidate will support the Finance Manager in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports and assisting with internal and external audits, while developing valuable experience across a broad range of accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
  • Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments and other adjustments.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts and general ledger accounts.
  • Support the analysis of material, labour and overhead costs.
  • Assist with production costing activities and review manufacturing variances.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting processes.
  • Assist with payroll reviews and expense analysis as required.
  • Support VAT, tax reporting and other statutory compliance requirements.
  • Prepare documentation and data for internal and external audits.

 Criteria: 

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
