Position: ASB+ Residential Program Director
Starting Date: August 2026.
The Residential Program Director is a senior live-in leadership position responsible for the strategic oversight, management, and development of the ASB Plus residential program. The Director ensures the wellbeing, safety, and holistic development of all boarding students while fostering a supportive, inclusive, and structured residential community aligned with the mission and values of the school. Living on campus, the Director serves as a visible and engaged leader within the residential community, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to both students and residential staff. The role includes supervising and developing the residential team, ensuring consistent implementation of policies, safeguarding practices, and student support systems across all residential houses. The Residential Director collaborates closely with academic staff, counselors, and school leadership to support students’ academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social growth. Through strong leadership, effective communication, and a deep understanding of adolescent development, the Residential Director establishes a positive residential culture that promotes responsibility, independence, respect, and community engagement while ensuring a safe, caring, and well-managed living environment for all boarding students.
Leadership and Management
Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the school’s residential program, ensuring a safe, supportive, and well-structured living environment for all boarding students.
Supervise and support all ASB Plus staff members such as; Houseparent's, and Residential Assistants, fostering a collaborative team culture focused on student wellbeing, accountability, and professional growth.
Develop, implement, and review residential policies, procedures, and programs to ensure alignment with the school’s mission, values, and safeguarding expectations.
Lead regular residential staff meetings, training sessions, and program reviews to ensure consistent practices and high standards across all residential houses.
Promote a positive residential culture that encourages student responsibility, respect, independence, and community engagement.
Student Care and Welfare
Oversee the academic, emotional, and social wellbeing of all boarding students, ensuring appropriate systems of pastoral care and support are in place.
Work closely with counselors, faculty, and school leadership to identify and support students who may require additional guidance or intervention.
Serve as a key point of contact for parents and guardians regarding residential life, student welfare, and boarding-related concerns.
Guide the development of residential programs that promote personal development, leadership, life skills, and positive behavior among students.
Ensure effective communication between residential staff, students, families, and school departments regarding student progress and wellbeing.
Residential Program Operations
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential program, ensuring consistency in expectations, routines, and student supervision across all residential houses.
Ensure that house schedules, study programs, co-curricular engagement, and recreational opportunities support a balanced and enriching boarding experience.
Support the planning and implementation of residential activities, trips, and community events that foster connection and engagement within the boarding community.
Ensure residential facilities are safe, well-maintained, and conducive to student wellbeing, study, and relaxation.
Administration and Program Coordination
Oversee residential administrative systems including student records, duty schedules, incident reporting, and program documentation.
Coordinate closely with school departments such as academics, admissions, facilities, health services, and activities to ensure the effective operation of the residential program.
Support budgeting, resource allocation, and logistical planning related to residential life and student activities.
Participate in professional development and remain informed about best practices in boarding education and student wellbeing.
Safeguarding, Health, and Safety
Ensure the residential program operates in full compliance with the school’s safeguarding policies and international best practices in student protection.
Maintain strong health and safety procedures across all residential houses, addressing concerns promptly and coordinating with relevant staff and leadership.
Participate in and oversee the residential on-call system, ensuring appropriate response and support during emergencies or critical incidents.
Promote a culture of care, vigilance, and responsibility within the residential community to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.
Position Requirements
Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
Experience working in a residential, boarding, or educational environment for a minimum of 2 years.
Knowledge of safeguarding protocols and commitment to child protection.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage positively with students, parents, and staff.
A high degree of emotional intelligence, empathy, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
Additional qualifications in first aid, mental health, or counseling.
Specialized skills or hobbies (e.g., arts, sports, music) that could contribute to co-curricular programs.
Experience working with international students or in an international school setting.
