Optometrist / St. Austell/ £75,000 DOE

Optometrist Location – St. Austell Salary – Up to £75,000 + Bonus & Excellent Benefits

 

An exciting opportunity has become available for a GOC-registered Optometrist to join a leading community-focused optical provider. This role offers the chance to work within a supportive, patient-first environment where clinical excellence is the priority.

You'll work alongside an experienced Dispensing Optician Manager and a dedicated practice team, delivering exceptional eye care while benefiting from continuous professional development, funded accreditations, and genuine career progression opportunities.

Job Summary

As an Optometrist, you will provide comprehensive eye examinations while delivering exceptional patient care and clinical expertise. Alongside routine sight tests, you'll undertake contact lens clinics and enhanced NHS services, helping to diagnose, monitor, and manage a range of eye conditions.

Working closely with your colleagues, you'll also support team development through coaching and mentoring while contributing to the continued success of the department.

 

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive eye examinations. Deliver contact lens consultations and aftercare. Provide enhanced NHS services, including monitoring and management of eye conditions. Work closely with the Dispensing Optician Manager to maintain high clinical and operational standards. Deliver exceptional customer service throughout every patient journey. Support the coaching and development of colleagues within the practice. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with GOC and NHS standards. Participate in ongoing CPD and professional development programmes. Option to supervise pre-registration Optometrists and students.

Team Development

Work collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team. Coach and mentor colleagues to maintain high clinical standards. Participate in regular clinical training and development. Support student supervision opportunities where desired. Help create a positive, patient-focused culture within the practice.

About You

GOC-registered Optometrist. Registered on the NHS Performer List. MECS or WECS accredited (or willing to gain accreditation with full support and funding). Up to date with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements. Passionate about delivering outstanding patient care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Enthusiastic about developing enhanced clinical services. Committed to working collaboratively within a supportive team.
