Band 5 Staff Nurse to work within Special Care Baby Unit caring for sick and premature babies and their families. To work within the Team to care for sick and preterm babies. Full training will be given to successful candidate and will work alongside experienced members of the team. The successful candidate will care for babies from admission to discharge and also be involved in the stabilisation of babies that require transfer to a Tertiary Unit. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake NLS training and 4 yearly and to complete Qualification in Speciality Foundation and Intensive Main duties of the job

To be responsible under supervision for the provision of skilled nursing care within the multidisciplinary team. There may be a requirement to supervise/demonstrate procedures to student nurses and Healthcare Assistants. To support a continuously improving service, in line with the clinical governance framework, Trust objectives and the NHS performance framework. To continually develop professionally to ensure the post holder has the appropriate level of skill, knowledge and competence to meet service/speciality requirements.
