The role
We are currently looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to support our busy Finance team. This role will be varied, covering standard month-end, year-end procedures as well as providing ad-hoc support for the group finance team.
· Assist with day-to-day financial transactions and record-keeping
· Monitor and respond to accounts inbox, answering queries within agreed SLA’s.
· Billing preparation – collecting monthly figures, invoice preparations, monitoring contracts agreements, billing schedules maintenance
· Credit control management, producing weekly statements, identifying and resolving accounts discrepancies, errors and potential anomalies. Contacting customers to discuss payment.
· Bank/credit cards transactions and cash book reconciliations
· Process purchase invoices
· Processing of month-end journals as required
· Assist in month end closing process (i.e. cost analysis by ledger account)
About you
· Previous experience in day to day finance transactions.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple deadlines across different disciplines.
· Accuracy and attention to detail.
· The ability to act on own initiative as well as being a team player
· Ability to identify potential issues and problems in timely manner and take relevant actions
· Proficiency in using financial software (preferably Sage 50/200) with good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
· Eager to learn and absorb information from the team and other departments, contribute own viewpoint/opinion.
