Working within the Asset Investment and Programmes team, the Fire Safety Project Manager plays a critical role in delivering the Group's fire safety programme, helping to ensure that our residents, staff and visitors are protected through effective fire safety management, compliance and investment. The role combines technical expertise, project management and a proactive approach to building safety, supporting the delivery of major fire safety works, remediation projects and compliance programmes across our diverse property portfolio. The role will also work closely with our Property Managers, Heads of Service and operational teams, providing specialist fire safety expertise and a strong presence on the ground to support building safety and compliance objectives.Could you help shape and deliver our fire safety strategy while ensuring residents receive safe, high-quality housing? Could you use your expertise to manage complex fire safety projects, oversee contractors and consultants, and ensure our homes remain compliant with changing legislation and best practice? If Yes - We want to hear from you!Your role will focus on the following responsibilities:Deliver fire safety surveys and inspections:Carry out fire safety surveys, quality assurance inspections and property assessments across the Group's property portfolio, ensuring that fire safety standards are maintained and compliance requirements are met. Support the development of future fire safety programmes through site inspections, fire risk assessment reviews and desktop analysis.Manage fire safety projects and major works programmes:Lead and manage fire safety projects and remediation works, overseeing contractors, consultants and Employer's Agents to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Manage contract instructions, variations and valuations while maintaining a strong focus on Value for Money (VfM).Ensure compliance and building safety:Support the organisation in meeting all statutory, regulatory and building safety obligations relating to fire safety. Work closely with colleagues to identify, monitor and address fire and building safety risks, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice guidance. Provide specialist fire safety expertise:Provide professional advice and technical support to senior managers and operational teams on fire safety matters. Support the implementation of fire safety recommendations arising from Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), building safety inspections and other compliance-related reports, ensuring actions are appropriately tracked and completed. Support effective asset and compliance management:Maintain accurate records within the Group's asset management and compliance systems, ensuring all fire safety assets, building information and project data are up to date. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes to ensure the organisation remains compliant and prepared for emerging requirements.Put residents at the heart of decision-making:Build positive relationships with residents, colleagues, contractors and stakeholders, ensuring excellent communication, customer service and responsiveness while acting as an ambassador for YMCA St Paul's Group and promoting a positive safety culture.We are looking for someone who:Holds a recognised professional qualification in building safety, fire safety or a related construction discipline, with relevant fire safety qualifications highly desirable.Has significant experience delivering complex fire safety projects and programmes, including managing contractors, Employer's Agents, consultants and major works projects. Has a strong understanding of fire safety legislation and regulations, including the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and wider housing compliance requirements.Can effectively manage contracts, budgets, project risks and performance while maintaining a strong focus on quality, compliance and value for money.Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience working alongside residents, operational teams and external stakeholders. Is organised, analytical and committed to delivering safe, compliant and high-quality services aligned with YMCA St Paul's Group's values.This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation and make a lasting impact on the safety and quality of our property portfolio.
