Employment Support Programmes Coordinator

The Tees Valley Combined Authority has made huge progress since its creation, taking on devolved responsibilities from Government for transport, infrastructure, skills, business investment, and developing local collaborations on culture, tourism and housing.  

These powers are backed up by substantial funding, a ten-year plan (approved in 2019) outlines how £588million worth of spending will support the creation of 16,785 jobs and an additional £1.48billion to the area’s economic output.  

The investment plan, which supports the delivery of the Combined Authority’s Strategic Economic Plan was first launched in 2017 and includes £20million for a major transformational project in each of the five local authority boroughs, and an indigenous Growth Fund of £50million to improve and revitalise towns and communities.

That legacy lives on today in the area’s rail and engineering industries, our deep-sea port and advanced manufacturing heart. Tees Valley is also a dynamic business location for digital and creative technologies, and a leading destination for process industry and new energy companies.

About the role
Are you passionate about improving outcomes for young people and residents who face barriers to employment, including disabled people and people with health conditions? Do you enjoy working collaboratively with partners to deliver impactful programmes? 

We are seeking two Employment Support Programmes Coordinators to support the coordination of the Tees Valley Youth Guarantee Trailblazer and the Tees Valley Connect to Work programme. These exciting opportunities will contribute to high-profile programmes that help young people access education, training and employment, and support residents who are disabled, have health conditions or face complex barriers to employment to secure and retain work. 

These roles are currently funded until March 2027; however, subject to confirmation of future funding, there may be an opportunity for the posts to be extended beyond this date. 

Interviews will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday 9th September, Thursday 10th and Friday 11th September, shortlisted candidates will be notified of their interview date by 3rd September.

Role requirements
The successful candidates will play an important role in supporting the coordination and delivery of contracted employment support provision across the Tees Valley. They will help ensure activity is delivered effectively, consistently and in line with programme objectives, contractual requirements and funding conditions. 

Working closely with the Employment Support Programmes Manager, you will: 

1. Support the day-to-day coordination of programme delivery across contracted providers. 
2. Monitor delivery performance, identify issues and support timely, accurate reporting. 
3. Build and maintain positive relationships with delivery partners, employers and key stakeholders. 
4. Help ensure young people and residents accessing support receive a high-quality, consistent experience. 
5. Support programme administration, data collection and evidence gathering to meet reporting and assurance requirements.

We are looking for candidates who are confident, organised and collaborative, with experience of: 

Coordinating programmes, projects or services involving multiple partners or stakeholders. 

Monitoring progress, maintaining accurate records and reporting against agreed targets or outcomes. 

Communicating effectively with a range of partners, providers and internal colleagues. 

Working within employment, skills, health, funded programme or public sector environments would be desirable. 

You will be solutions-focused, detail-oriented and committed to helping deliver positive outcomes for young people and residents across the Tees Valley.
