Financial Controller
Location: Hybrid Salary: £42208 - £46208 pro rata per annum depending on experience.
Berry Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join a purpose-driven organisation and take responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the finance function.
This is a senior position working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Board, providing financial insight and supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day finance function, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and analysis.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
- Monitor financial performance, identifying risks, trends and opportunities.
- Provide financial insight to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Develop financial models and support long-term financial planning.
- Lead the annual accounts and audit process.
- Ensure statutory and regulatory financial reporting requirements are met.
- Oversee grant/restricted income and associated financial reporting.
- Maintain robust financial controls, policies and procedures.
- Support senior leadership and Board reporting and decision-making.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, pension providers and other external stakeholders.
About You
We are looking for a qualified and experienced finance professional with:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
- Strong experience across financial management, management accounts, budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience within a charity, not-for-profit or similar environment is desirable.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel and good Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders.
- A proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach.
