The Role

As Head of Design & Technology, you will lead the strategic development of DT across KS3 & KS4, with potential KS5 provision depending on specialism (e.g. Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering).

Your responsibilities will include:

• Shaping and driving the vision for Design & Technology across the school

• Leading curriculum planning, assessment, and quality assurance

• Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment

• Line managing and mentoring departmental staff

• Overseeing health & safety within workshops and practical environments

• Promoting enrichment opportunities such as competitions, STEM initiatives, and exhibitions

You will maintain a teaching timetable and model high-quality, practical classroom practice.

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher with QTS (or equivalent)

• Strong subject knowledge within Design & Technology

• Experience teaching to KS4 (KS5 desirable)

• Proven leadership experience or readiness to step into a Head of Department role

• Commitment to high standards, safety, and curriculum innovation
