Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEMH needs, focusing on building positive relationships and fostering emotional well-being.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote a safe and productive learning environment.
- Assist in delivering a tailored curriculum, adapting learning materials to meet individual needs and abilities.
- Work closely with the SENCO, pastoral team, and other staff to monitor student progress, set achievable targets, and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Support students in developing coping mechanisms, emotional regulation, and social skills.
- Help create an inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported.
- Participate in staff training and contribute to the school's strategies for supporting SEMH students.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs or in a behaviour management role is essential.
- Skills: Strong communication and de-escalation skills, with the ability to foster trust and rapport with students.
- Attributes: Patience, resilience, and empathy for young people facing emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Knowledge: Understanding of SEMH strategies, therapeutic approaches, and restorative practices is an advantage.
