Nottingham Place Partnership Programme Lead

Help change how a whole city thinks about physical activity Nottingham has secured Sport England Place Partnership funding, and we’re looking for someone to lead its delivery. This isn’t a role for someone who just wants to run a project plan — it’s for someone who can run one brilliantly and build the kind of trust across a city system that gets cross-sector organisations pulling in the same direction. You’ll be the person who keeps the programme on track — the budgets, the milestones, the reporting, the evaluation and learning— while also being the person partners call when they need to make sense of what’s working, what isn’t, and what to do next. What you’ll actually be doing

• Running the programme end to end: budgets, procurement, delivery partner agreements, risk, reporting.
• Turning community insight and evaluation data into learning that partners actually use — not just a report that sits on a shelf.
• Planning and delivering training and events that build the sector’s confidence with tools like Moving Communities.
• Building relationships strong enough that partners share information proactively, not just when asked.
• Using evidence and trust, not authority, to influence local authority and statutory services to think differently about physical activity and inequality.

You’ll thrive in this role if you are: A strong programme manager — organised, comfortable with budgets and procurement, and able to keep several plates spinning without dropping any. A natural relationship-builder — someone partners trust enough to be candid with, and who can turn that trust into shared action. Genuinely curious about people and communities — driven by reducing inequality and understanding the lived experience behind the data. Comfortable with ambiguity — this work evolves, and you’ll help shape it as much as deliver it. What you’ll need

• Proven experience managing complex, multi-partner programmes.
• A track record of report writing, budget management, and procurement or contract management.
• Evidence of building trust and influence with partners — ideally including statutory or public sector organisations.
• A genuine passion for Nottingham and a commitment to reducing health inequalities.
