Digital Collections Manager

£39.42k - £47.78k per annum
Temporary, Full-time

About the role
You will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of digital collections projects that support the Museum's digital transformation, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and in line with digital collections policies, standards and systems.

You will manage projects from planning through to delivery, oversee digitisation and cataloguing initiatives, and work collaboratively with colleagues across curatorial, conservation, photography, development and digital engagement teams. You will also support research and innovation activities, contribute to the development of digital collections policy and processes, and supervise project staff, volunteers and students where appropriate.

This is a full-time, fixed-term post for 2 years.

About You
You will have proven project management experience, with a track record of delivering complex projects using recognised methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall. You will have experience working with digital collections and digitisation projects in a museum or heritage environment, together with excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.

You will be an effective communicator, confident in building relationships with colleagues from a range of professional backgrounds, and capable of managing competing priorities while maintaining high standards.

Experience of supervising others and strong IT skills are essential, while knowledge of collections systems, data standards and digital imaging would be advantageous.

How to apply
Only applications received online by 12.00 midday (BST) on Friday 28 August 2026 can be considered. Interviews are expected to take place during week commencing 14 September.
