Senior Private Client Solicitor / HOD

A well-established law firm in the Southport area are looking to appoint an experienced Head of Private Client to lead its successful Private Client department. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious senior solicitor or existing department head to take on a key leadership role, managing a strong team while maintaining a varied and high-quality caseload.

The successful candidate will combine exceptional technical expertise with a genuine passion for client care and team development. Ideally, you will be STEP qualified, although this is not essential for the right individual with the relevant experience.

The Role

As Head of Private Client, you will lead a department comprising two fee earners and two support staff, ensuring the team delivers an outstanding service while achieving departmental and firm-wide objectives.

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will manage your own caseload of private client matters, including:

* Wills
* Probate
* Estate administration
* Court of Protection matters

You will also play an active role in the continued growth and development of the department through business development, marketing initiatives and maintaining strong relationships with referrers.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

* Significant experience handling a broad range of private client matters.
* Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a private client team.
* Strong technical knowledge across wills, probate, estate administration and Court of Protection work.
* Excellent communication and client care skills.
* A proactive approach to business development and networking.
* A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing others.
* STEP qualification, or a willingness to work towards it, would be advantageous.
