Site Engineer - Highways Project
Location: South of Coventry
Rate: £350-£375 per day (DOE)
Contract Type: Freelance (CIS)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a major highways project south of Coventry. This Freelance Site Engineer role offers the chance to work on a high-profile scheme, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Role

As a Freelance Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of the project, ensuring all engineering, safety, quality, and commercial requirements are met.

Key responsibilities include:

·Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
·Setting out and surveying works using GPS equipment, total stations, and laser/dumpy levels.
·Supporting the organisation and coordination of project activities and site teams.
·Ensuring compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards.
·Assisting with contract administration, project meetings, and documentation.
·Supporting cost control, reporting, and financial management processes.
·Monitoring and coordinating project programmes and site progress.
·Acting as a key point of contact between the project team and client representatives.

Requirements

·Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
·4-5 years' relevant experience, ideally within highways projects.
·Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or highways schemes.
·Proficient in AutoCAD.
·Experienced in the use of GPS equipment, total stations, and laser/dumpy levels.
·Own laptop with AutoCAD software available for site use.
·Strong communication and organisational skills.
