We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced and competent individual to play a key role in the planning and scheduling of our production department. You would be an important advisor and support to our production manager with a goal of making us as efficient and effective as possible in manufacturing on time for our customers.
This role would suit someone with a strong background in knitwear preferably but also manufacturing who can digest key information quickly and create logical scheduling for our work streams in production. We would love to hear from people with advanced organisational and problem-solving skills. Experience in managing complexity and prioritising work effectively will be crucial for success. What will you be doing?
This is a critical role to support our production manager with essential planning and scheduling information to make production as efficient and effective as possible. Key duties summarised below:
Create and maintain production schedules across all operations including knitting, linking, hand sew, finishing and our warehouse
Create sub-contractor plans in line with the delivery commitments we have made to our customers
Sequence orders based on priority and process constraints
Align production plans with customer delivery requirements provided by pre-production team
Continuously re-plan and mitigate in response to changes as a result of delays, quality issues or employee absence
Analyse capacity vs demand across all departments
Balance workloads across teams based on capacity and identify any potential bottlenecks
Work closely with key stakeholders across the business including Production managers, team leaders, Pre-production/Demand Planner and Sub-contractor team
Ensure clear communication of schedules and updates
Build realistic plans that support “right first time” production
Track production performance in accordance with overall plans
Report accurately on Capacity utilisation and On-time delivery
Identify opportunities to improve scheduling efficiency and workflow
Contribute to lean initiatives and process optimisation
Support the development of planning tools and systems as the site scales

Key Skills & Experience
Experience in production planning/scheduling in manufacturing
Strong understanding of multi-stage production processes
Advanced Excel skills
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage complexity and re-prioritise quickly
Strong communication skills and stakeholder management
