Design & Technology (DT) Teacher - Norwich

A well-regarded secondary school in Norwich is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design & Technology (DT) Teacher to join its DT Department. This is a full-time, permanent role, suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about delivering practical and engaging lessons in design, materials, and technology.

The Role

The successful candidate will plan and deliver stimulating DT lessons, inspire creativity, and encourage problem-solving and practical skills. Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering high-quality DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and where applicable, Key Stage 5.

• Supporting students in practical projects, ensuring safe and effective use of tools and equipment.

• Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback and reports.

• Contributing to curriculum development and lesson resource planning.

• Encouraging innovation, creativity, and real-world applications of design skills.

• Supporting departmental projects, exhibitions, and school events.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology.

• Practical experience with tools, machinery, and materials used in DT lessons.

• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

• Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.

• Commitment to health and safety in practical lessons.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
