This year long internship is developed to provide an in-depth insight into the Digital Partnerships team at Sony Music UK who are responsible for Sony’s relationships with Digital Service Providers (also known as the “DSPs”), i.e. Spotify, Apple, Amazon, YouTube and many more. The role as the intern plays an absolutely essential part in the running of the Digital Partnerships team, and is an exciting opportunity to get hands-on experience into the inner workings of a major record label, how artists grow their audiences on these platforms, as well as an overall insight into the way in which a record label works on a day-to-day basis. As a central team within Sony Music, Digital Partnerships offers exposure to a wide range of departments and stakeholders across the business.

The intern will develop valuable knowledge of charts, streaming strategy, and how the team helps support and accelerate key artist campaigns and priorities. They will be accountable for administration and co-ordination within the Digital Partnerships team, providing vital backing to the account management team. They will establish themselves as a point of contact for any queries relating to these areas by forging strong relationships with the label teams.

Role Overview:

Ways of Working

• Office attendance: 3/4 days office attendance minimum
• Flexibility: Flexibility regarding working from the office and working from home be discussed
• Offsite working: Exciting opportunities will be made available to attend gigs and artist events

What you'll do:

• Manage team weekly reports including: Friday DSP support on new releases, Pre-Orders, radio playlist updates
• Oversee Team Admin including: regular upkeep of mailing lists, pre-meeting prep, taking minutes in all key meetings and distributing to the team
• Weekly pitching of songs and albums to DSPs in their pitching platforms
• Monitor release info and metadata pre-release and overseeing artist profile optimisation around new releases
• Provide cover for the Team Coordinator as and when required including: upkeep and distribution of Sony Music’s central release schedule, manage music preview links across all upcoming releases to circulate to the DSPs, oversee ticket requests for Sony artists’ gigs across the team and DSP guests
• Create DSP marketing assets for labels

Who you are:

Essential

• You will be able to manage your time autonomously and prioritise tasks effectively to successfully fulfil your responsibilities
• You have excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Strong communication skills

• Tenacious, motivated and curious, eager to learn and ready to ask questions
• You have strong, proactive, communication skills as you will need to quickly build relationships with multiple stakeholders

Process Overview

• Applications open  August 10th at 10:00 and close August 24th at 10:00 . Candidates whose applications are selected will be invited to complete a video interview between September 28th and October 3rd . 
• Candidates who pass this stage will then be invited to the final stage of the process, an in-person assessment centre in early November. We will send further information on this stage before the date arrives.
• Successful applicants will start in January 2027 .
