The CNS is responsible for providing specialist clinical expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, management, and follow-up of patients with neuro-gastroenterological disorders. This includes conducting detailed assessments that consider not only gastrointestinal symptoms but also psychological wellbeing, nutritional status, medication use, lifestyle factors, and the impact of symptoms on quality of life. he post holder will be expected to manage nurse-led outpatient clinics, undertake telephone and virtual consultations where appropriate, and reviews patients following specialist diagnostic investigations. Working closely with consultant gastroenterologists and other members of the multidisciplinary team. The CNS monitors patient progress, evaluates treatment effectiveness, identifies complications or deterioration, and escalates care when necessary. They promote self-management strategies and support patients living with chronic gastrointestinal conditions to optimise symptom control and maintain quality of life based on current evidence and national guidance.
