What You'll Be Doing
As a Graduate Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive and challenging lessons across the secondary curriculum.
- Work with pupils across different year groups and abilities to support their academic and personal development.
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to pupils who require additional guidance.
- Support students with a range of SEN and additional learning needs , helping to remove barriers to learning.
- Deliver interventions designed to improve literacy, numeracy, subject knowledge and confidence.
- Support positive behaviour and encourage students to develop independence, resilience and self-confidence.
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and learning resources.
- Build positive and professional relationships with students, teachers and wider school staff.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
What We're Looking For
To be considered for this opportunity, you'll need:
- A 2:1 degree or above , or be predicted to achieve one.
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, proactive and professional approach.
- The enthusiasm to learn from experienced teachers and school leaders.
- Strong subject knowledge, particularly if you are interested in progressing into secondary teacher training.
- The ability to build positive relationships with young people.
- An ambition to build a long-term career within secondary education.
- The right to work full-time in the UK .
Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential . We're particularly interested in graduates who can demonstrate enthusiasm, resilience, commitment and the potential to make a genuine difference to students' education.
