Our client, an established Freight Forwarder, is currently seeking an Multi Modal Operator to join their team in Dartford.
As the Multi Modal Operator, you will monitor and track shipments, ensuring that all goods are transported to/from their destinations in accordance with the clients' needs and providing clients with timely updates of the progress of their shipments.
Duties include:
* Select appropriate transportation modes and routes based on factors such as cost, urgency, and cargo specifications.
* Optimize transportation routes and methods to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
* Prepare relevant shipment documentation such as Import & Export customs entries.
* Deal with the necessary paperwork to ensure smooth transport of the shipments.
* Address and resolve any shipment delays, disruptions, or issues that may arise during transit.
* Negotiate rates and maximise margin. The successful Multi Modal Operator will have 2-3 years' experience working within the Transport and Logistics industry, and strong knowledge of all modes of Transport (Air, Road and Sea). Experience Required for the Multi Modal Operator: * A good knowledge of MS Office software (incl. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
* A good working knowledge of the HMRC CDS system
