Handover and Completion Manager (Highways)

We are currently recruiting for a Handover and Completion Manager (Highways) to join our Routewide team based in Milton Keynes.

In this role, you will be r esponsible for monitoring and reporting progress on Route wide handover, completion and commissioning (H&C) activities in accordance with the accepted and/or current programme. You will c ontribute to development of handover, completion and commissioning policies, procedures and guidance in the Business Management System. You will be a m ain Point of Contact between H&C Team and Highways. You will d evelop a route wide Highway maintenance scope (temp, perm and PROWs), strategy, package to enable procurement, manage and monitor said contractor as required.

Part of this role is to programme management of Highway assets for consents and all H&C associated works/activities. You will t ake an active role in trouble shooting/problem solving in the H&C space and c ollaborate with the Route wide Commercial Team to notify any changes to the process envisaged. You will s upport adequate and effective audit processes and m aintain a relationship with Parent Company functional specialists and foster collaborative working practices .

As a Handover and Completion Highways Manager you will review and update highways completion plan to remain relevant and useful. Draft and brief any processes or guidance to support practical application of highways completion plan. You will i dentify and define multi-disciplinary tasks required at stages of highways handover and brief to all teams involved. You will u pdate, discuss and agree ICDs with local authorities including maintenance regimes. You will r egularly review highways (temp and perm) completion programme and assess readiness, liaising with site teams when required

In addition, you will regularly review information in SmartConnect (including the consents register and the handover readiness tracker) and support teams in ensuring it is up to date and coordinated You will s upport the management of delivery of highway boundary drawings and manage the programme and priorities routewide. You will also r eview and track status of part-complete highways opened in temporary states in liaison with the temp works and traffic 

About You

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree [or similar] level qualification in civil engineering or other relevant field. Ideally a Chartered professional.
• Extensive experience in highways construction and/or Design , with a strong background in handover, completion and commissioning activities on major projects.
• Experience in the management of interfaces with and securing consents from local councils at different stages of project delivery.
• Excellent people and communication skills. Ability to impact and influence stakeholders, build strong relations internally and externally.
• Ability to drive efficient delivery and business improvement, with s trong commercial skills.
• Can work independently and is proactive.
• Ability to manage and mitigate risks to a large programme.
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
• Holder of a CSCS card (White, White/Yellow, Black, Gold or Red Experienced)
