We're looking for a Commercial Manager for a central government department based in Manchester, Newcastle or Blackpool (hybrid) on an initial 5 months contract, paying up to £650 per day (Inside IR35).
This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week in the office. The successful Commercial Manager will lead the commercial strategy and delivery of complex, high-value software and technology procurements. You'll run end-to-end activity from business case and market engagement through to contract award, developing sourcing and negotiation strategies that deliver value for money. You'll also provide commercial leadership on enterprise software licensing, renewals and consumption-based models, working closely with Digital, Technology, Finance and IT Asset Management stakeholders. You will need proven experience in the following: Public sector commercial and procurement delivery within a large, complex organisationLeading high-value software, technology and digital procurements through to contract award
Enterprise software markets and vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Informatica and Flexera
Software licensing, SaaS, cloud, subscription and support models
Public sector procurement governance, competitive tendering and supplier negotiations
Analysing complex commercial proposals and risk, with strong stakeholder influencing skills Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation and enterprise technology initiatives would be beneficial, as would knowledge of SAM/ITAM, cloud procurement frameworks and Crown Commercial Service (CCS) routes.
