Settlement Analyst

Join Elexon as a Settlement Analyst (Grade 8) and help ensure accurate, timely energy settlements. Dive into data, improve processes, and support a diverse, mission-driven team.

Elexon plays a central and critical role at the heart of the wholesale electricity market, administering the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC) . This involves balancing electricity supply and demand, ensuring electricity transactions are accurately settled, and managing financial transactions between generators, suppliers and other market participants.

What you'll do:

As an EMR Settlement Analyst , you'll play a key role in supporting the operation of critical energy market schemes by:

• Executing daily settlement activities to ensure charges are calculated accurately and processed on time.

• Managing operational processes including data validation, exception handling, reconciliations, payments, invoicing and debt managemen t.

• Monitoring and maintaining EMR customer records, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

• Managing credit cover processes , including the administration of payments and Letters of Credit.

• Supporting the annual Pre-Qualification Credit Cover process and other key industry activities.

• Producing and analysing operational reports, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues .

• Providing first-class customer support through the EMRS Service Desk, responding to stakeholder enquiries and service requests.

• Supporting metering operations and working closely with third-party service providers .

• Maintaining complex market participant aggregation arrangements and processing updates efficiently.

• Contributing to audits, compliance activities and quality assurance processes , including ISO9001, ISO27001 and ISAE3402 requirements.

• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and helping to enhance operational performance.

• Supporting projects, software releases and operational change initiative s.

What you'll bring:

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems and delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced operational environment.

• Experience in a settlements, operational finance, financial operations or similar analytical role .

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

• An understanding of controls, governance and the importance of maintaining process integrity.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with data.

• The ability to manage your workload independently and take ownership of tasks from start to finish.

• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.

• A collaborative mindset and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

• A high level of professionalism, integrity and accountability.
