The organization is currently on the lookout for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join a growing security function, stepping into a role with real ownership from day one. The ideal candidate will bring deep, practical experience across SASE/SSE, vulnerability management, and EDR, working independently across a modern security stack including Zscaler/Netskope, Microsoft Purview/Defender/Sentinel, and Rapid7, while engaging directly with customers and stakeholders with minimal onboarding.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a senior technical point of contact for customers, engaging confidently and independently from day one
• Design, implement, and support SASE/SSE deployments (Zscaler and/or Netskope)
• Lead on vulnerability management and EDR operations, from configuration through to remediation guidance
• Provide input and guidance on DLP strategy and controls where relevant
• Support and advise across the Microsoft security stack (Purview, Defender, Sentinel) where applicable
• Contribute to incident response and exposure management activity, drawing on real-world operational experience (Rapid7 exposure welcomed)
• Act as a mentor and technical escalation point for more junior members of the team
• Bring a proactive, opinion-forming approach to customer conversations rather than a purely reactive one

Skills/Must Have:

• Essential: hands-on experience with Zscaler and/or Netskope (SASE/SSE)
• Strong working knowledge of vulnerability management and EDR platforms
• DLP awareness or hands-on experience is a plus
• Experience with the Microsoft security stack (Purview, Defender, Sentinel) is a strong bonus
• Experience with Rapid7 (incident response and/or exposure management) is valued
• Real-world incident response experience, not just platform familiarity
• A genuine passion for cyber security and a proactive, authentic approach to customer engagement

Salary:

• £70,000 - £90,000, dependent on experience
