About The Role

As a Member of Technical Staff, Machine Learning, you will contribute to the development of core machine learning systems across training, evaluation, inference and data pipelines.

You'll work closely with experienced machine learning engineers, researchers and product teams, gaining exposure to the challenges of operating AI systems in real-world environments. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow through hands-on ownership, experimentation and continuous learning.

What You'll Do

Machine Learning Development

• Build and improve machine learning components across data, training, evaluation and inference systems.
• Fine-tune and adapt models as part of larger production environments.
• Implement testing and evaluation frameworks to better understand model behaviour.
• Contribute to model deployment and production optimisation efforts.
• Continuously iterate on models and systems based on measurable performance outcomes.

Data & Infrastructure

• Build and maintain data pipelines supporting real-world and synthetic training data.
• Improve data quality, reproducibility and reliability across machine learning workflows.
• Support the development of robust training and inference infrastructure.
• Help ensure ML systems remain maintainable and scalable.

Production Operations

• Debug model behaviour, performance issues and production incidents.
• Investigate latency, reliability and operational challenges.
• Support root-cause analysis and implement improvements.
• Monitor production systems and proactively identify opportunities for optimisation.

Collaboration

• Work closely with senior ML engineers, software engineers, researchers and product teams.
• Participate in technical discussions and implementation planning.
• Learn from experienced team members while steadily growing technical ownership.
• Help deliver reliable AI-powered features that improve user experiences.

What We're Looking For

Experience

• Strong foundations in machine learning and modern neural network architectures.
• Exposure to training, fine-tuning or deploying machine learning models.
• Experience writing production-quality software.
• Interest in building and operating real-world AI systems.

Technical Skills

• Strong Python development skills.
• Familiarity with PyTorch and/or JAX.
• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals and model evaluation techniques.
• Strong debugging and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to learn new technologies and frameworks quickly.

Location: Remote from UK / Hybrid

Employment Type: Full-time
Salary Range: £70,000 - £85,000 GBP per annum
