Manufacturing Technician (Electromechanical and Test) -...

Job Description:

As a key member of our Production team on a fixed-term basis, you will assemble high-quality, complex electronic products for leading Motorsport customers. Working to detailed engineering specifications and exacting quality standards, you will use precision assembly and soldering skills to ensure products are built right first time and delivered to the standards expected within a high-performance Motorsport environment.

The Role:

  • Assemble complex electronic products for leading Motorsport customers in line with engineering specifications.

  • Interpret detailed assembly instructions, drawings and build documentation accurately.

  • Build products in accordance with documented processes, achieving first-pass quality with no rework.

  • Work to IPC-A-610 electro-mechanical standards, maintaining compliance at all times.

  • Maintain high levels of quality, and traceability throughout the build process.

  • Ensure finished products meet defined visual and presentation standards prior to release.

  • Carry out encapsulation, labelling and final inspection to premium customer standards.

  • Perform precision assembly tasks requiring fine adjustment, care and attention to detail.

  • Undertake high-quality soldering.

  • Conduct low-level testing and controlled product power-up procedures.

  • Collaborate effectively within a small production team, maintaining clear communication.

  • Manage workload to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

  • Respond positively to changing priorities and urgent production requirements.

  • Remain composed under pressure, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.

  • Support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by following company policy and best practice.

Candidate Profile:

Essential

  • Proven experience in electro-mechanical assembly.

  • Ability to read and interpret detailed assembly instructions, drawings and technical documentation.

  • High level of manual dexterity and attention to detail. Demonstrable soldering capability.

  • Experience of soldering to IPC-A-610 standards is desirable; however, training can be provided for the right candidate.

  • Strong commitment to quality and first-pass build principles.

  • Ability to work methodically and patiently on complex assemblies.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a small team environment.

  • Able to manage workload, handle pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.

Desirable

  • Formal IPC-A-610 certification.

  • Experience within Motorsport, automotive electronics or high-performance engineering environments.

  • Experience in product testing and controlled power-up procedures.

  • Familiarity with encapsulation processes and final product presentation standards.
