About the Role of Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

As a Learning Support Assistant in High Wycombe, you’ll work closely with teachers and SEN professionals to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment. Your day will be varied and include supporting children one-to-one, encouraging positive behaviour, and helping pupils build confidence and independence.

Learning Support Assistant High Wycombe – Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEN or additional learning needs

• Assist teachers in preparing and delivering lessons

• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom atmosphere

• Promote engagement, participation, and good communication among pupils

• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to support learning outcomes

• Follow safeguarding policies and uphold Prevent and FGM awareness

• Be adaptable to different school environments within the High Wycombe area

Requirements

• Experience as an LSA supporting children or young people (preferred)

• A genuine passion for helping children succeed

• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection (training provided if needed)

• Enhanced DBS (we can assist with this process)

• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Education, Childcare, or Support Work (advantageous)

• Paediatric First Aid certification is desirable
