Grades 3-6 EAL Teacher

Unity Concord International School is seeking an experienced and dedicated Grades 3–6 EAL Teacher to join our elementary division. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting multilingual learners to develop academic English proficiency, access the curriculum, and thrive socially and emotionally, while fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.

This role works collaboratively with the EAL Coordinator, Grades 3–6 homeroom teams and specialist teachers to ensure effective implementation of EAL support, strong student outcomes, and alignment with the school’s mission and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver targeted EAL instruction for students in Grades 3–6, aligned with school curriculum frameworks and EAL language development goals

• Support multilingual learners to access grade-level content through appropriate scaffolding in speaking, listening, reading, and writing

• Assess students’ English language proficiency, monitor progress, and use data to inform planning, grouping, and next steps

• Collaborate with the EAL Coordinator, Grades 3–6 homeroom teachers and specialist teachers to identify language demands within units and plan effective supports and differentiation

• Develop and share practical strategies and resources for classroom teachers (e.g., sentence frames, vocabulary routines, visuals, graphic organisers, structured talk)

• Maintain accurate records of EAL provision, language goals, student progress, and documentation for reporting cycles and student support meetings

• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding language development, progress, and strategies to support learning at home (as appropriate)

• Promote student confidence, inclusion, and well-being, supporting learners’ sense of belonging and participation in classroom and school life

• Uphold school policies and expectations related to safeguarding, professionalism, confidentiality, and student welfare

• Participate in grade-level meetings, EAL/common planning, staff meetings, school events, and ongoing professional development

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL/TEFL, Applied Linguistics, English, Primary/Elementary Education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

• Recognised teaching licence, credential, or certification from the country of training (e.g. PGCE, QTS, state certification).

• Minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience, preferably including experience supporting multilingual learners (EAL/ELL).

• Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based EAL instruction and strategies to support language development across the curriculum.

• Experience using student data to inform instruction, scaffolding, and support planning.

• Proficiency in English sufficient for professional instruction, collaboration, reporting, and documentation.

• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively with classroom/subject teachers, learning support staff, and school leadership.

• Eligibility to obtain a work permit and visa in Thailand.
