Deputy Home Manager Nurse Qualified

Job Purpose
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Deputy Manager to support the Home Manager in leading our care home team. As a Deputy Manager at Akari Care, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of care, enhancing the well-being of our residents, and driving the success of our care home.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership Support: To assist the Home Manager in providing strong and effective leadership our Colleagues, fostering a culture of excellence, compassion, and continuous improvement.
• Operational Management: Helping oversee the day-to-day operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with all Akari Care and regulatory standards, deputising in the Home Managers absence.
• Quality Care: Ensuring the delivery of exceptional care meeting the individual needs of each resident, promoting their well-being and dignity.
• Team Development: Supporting the recruitment, training and development of Colleagues. Including the mentoring of the nursing team, fostering a supportive and motivated work environment.
• Clinical oversight: Completing pre-admission assessments of potential new residents to ensure their needs can be safely met. Ensuring resident care plans reflect their current needs and are kept under review, working with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure any changes or concerns are addressed promptly.
• Communication: Maintenance of clear and accurate records of care to be provided and communicate effectively with residents, families, and Colleagues.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the home adheres to all relevant regulations and standards, implementing policies and procedures that promote safety and quality care.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Building and maintaining positive relationships with residents, families, Colleagues, and external stakeholders to ensure clear and effective communication.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration, with no restrictions.
• A leadership qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Proven track record and experience within a social care setting.
• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
• A caring and empathetic approach, with a genuine commitment to enhancing the lives of our residents.
• Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and Colleagues.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond to changing needs and priorities.
