Communications Assistant

Lee Pitcher MP is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent organisation and communication skills, including skills in digital and video production and photography to support his work in Doncaster East and the Isle of Axholme. This post is available for a six-month fixed term, 22 hours per week.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Producing clear, engaging and creative communications content across multiple platforms - including photos and videos for use in effectively communicating Lee's work with constituents
• Supporting the wider team to develop an engaging communications plan and deliver assigned actions
• Accompaying Lee to constituency events and ensuring the best possible photos and videos are captured
• Regularly respond to incoming constituent correspondence - specifically policy campaign responses
• Other duties as may be reasonably directed by the Office Manager
  Person Specification
  Essential:
• An 'eye' for good visual content and the confidence to get it
• Excellent interpersonal skills and social confidence in order to engage with multiple people and get the content needed
• Creativity, self motivation and enthusiasm
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to tailor content for the correct audience
• A strong awareness of current affairs and the political landscape - and a strong understanding of the character and priorities of Doncaster East and the Isle of Axholme
  Desirable:
• Experience in previous digital communications roles or similar
• Experience using Canva, Adobe Suite or similar
• Sympathy with the aims and values of the Labour Party
