Opportunities available include both Days Only and Shift Work (6-week rotating shift pattern
- rotated from 6am-2pm / 2pm -10pm / 10pm-6am) Additional rotary shift payment of £1950 per 52 weeks, additional pay 0.5x time on Saturdays, 1x time Sundays and bank holidays when rostered to work.

As an Electrical Technician supporting the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), you’ll help keep a critical healthcare environment running safely, reliably, and efficiently. Your work will directly support patient care, colleagues, and the wider community by ensuring essential electrical services are always available.
In this role, you’ll be part of a trusted estates team delivering a positive impact every day. From planned maintenance to urgent repairs, your expertise will help create a safe, compliant, and resilient hospital estate — where technology, care, and people come together for the future.


What you’ll do as an Electrical Technician
You’ll be entrusted to:
Maintain electrical services, plant, and equipment across the hospital estate to high safety and performance standards
Carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning, and maintenance as directed by estates supervisors and managers
Deliver planned preventative maintenance across a wide range of electrical systems and equipment
Work safely at all times, assessing risks, following permits and policies, and knowing when to seek advice or support
Communicate clearly with colleagues, supervisors, managers, and hospital staff regarding work activity, progress, and service availability
Accurately complete work orders and records using computerised labour control and time and attendance systems


Does this sound like you?
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have…
Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent structured training programme
Relevant City and Guilds and or BTEC electrical qualifications
Proven experience working in a similar environment, ideally within large or complex buildings
Knowledge and understanding of electrical building services
Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach


Vetting and checks
A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
