ABOUT CONCORDIA SCHOOL PARIS

Concordia School Paris is a French–English bilingual international school welcoming pupils from Nursery through Middle School, with an IB Diploma Programme opening in 2027. As a Cambridge-accredited school, we teach a dual pathway: the French national curriculum alongside the Cambridge international curriculum, each delivered by teachers working in their own language. We operate two campuses in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an English-speaking mathematics teacher, trained in an Anglo-Saxon education system, to teach mathematics in English to our Year 9 and Year 10 pupils (4ème and 3ème) and to prepare them for the Cambridge IGCSE examinations.

You will not be working alone. You will join an established mathematics team — French and English-speaking colleagues who plan together, share resources and follow the same pupils across both curricula — supported by the Head of Middle School and by our Cambridge coordinator.

• Position: part-time; teaching load agreed according to profile and availability

• Year groups: Year 9 and Year 10 (equivalent to 4ème and 3ème)

• Curriculum: Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (0580) / International Mathematics (0607)

• Campus: Cimarosa 7, rue Cimarosa, 75116 Paris

• Start date: September 2026, at the beginning of the academic year

• Contract: French employment contract (type and salary discussed at interview, according to experience)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons in English, in line with the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus.

• Prepare pupils for the IGCSE examinations, including past-paper practice, revision and examination technique.

• Assess progress regularly, write reports and meet parents at scheduled parent–teacher conferences.

• Work closely with the French mathematics team so that the two curricula reinforce one another rather than duplicate.

A STEPPING STONE TOWARDS THE IB DIPLOMA

These two years are the mathematical foundation of everything that follows. Concordia opens its IB Diploma Programme in 2027, and our Year 9 and Year 10 pupils will be its first cohort: the algebraic fluency, reasoning and habits of mind they build now are exactly what IB Mathematics — Analysis and Approaches, and Applications and Interpretation — will ask of them.

The teacher we appoint will therefore help shape the bridge between IGCSE and the Diploma, and, for a candidate who wishes it, there is real scope to grow into teaching IB Mathematics as the Diploma Programme opens.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• A degree in mathematics or a closely related discipline.

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, B.Ed., state certification or equivalent).

• Native or fully fluent English, with schooling or teacher training in an Anglo-Saxon system (UK, Ireland, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa).

• Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE mathematics, or a comparable international programme (GCSE, IB MYP, AP/Common Core).

• A warm, structured and encouraging classroom presence; comfortable with pupils who are learning in their second language.

• French is welcome but not required — our teaching teams work in English every day.
