- Carrying out high-quality School Based Assessments, as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for children and young people
- Assess and provide tailored advice and interventions for children with diverse needs.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans in collaboration with families and carers.
- Recommend and support the use of specialist equipment for home and school settings.
- Liaise with professionals across health, education, social care, and voluntary sectors to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide sensitive and effective communication with children and their families, adapting to their needs and circumstances.
- Contribute to team performance targets and participate in supervision, training, and team meetings.
- Assist with prioritising treatment goals for children with complex needs or terminal illnesses, ensuring appropriate discharge planning and referrals
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Knowledge or training in ASD strategies/interventions (e.g. PECS, SCERTS, ADOS)
- Evidence of post-graduate training or equivalent experience in:
- Child development
- ASD, ADHD, neurodevelopmental conditions
- Experience working with children in a similar paediatric setting
- Confidence in using a variety of assessments and treatment approaches
- Membership of BAOT
- Membership of a Special Interest Group
- Clinical Educator qualification
- Experience delivering community-based childrens OT services
