We are recruiting for a skilled Shift Electrician to join the Estates & Facilities team at a busy NHS Hospital. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for an experienced electrician looking for long-term stability, excellent benefits, and the chance to play a vital role in supporting frontline healthcare services.
As an Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and testing electrical systems across a large and varied healthcare environment, ensuring critical services remain operational 24/7.

Working Hours
- Either 8am-4pm Monday to Friday or 12-hour shifts on a rotating shift pattern
- Days and nights required if on shift pattern
- Includes weekends and bank holidays as part of the rota if on shift pattern
Key Responsibilities
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently
- Carry out electrical testing and inspections
- Respond to emergency breakdowns across the hospital site
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and NHS standards
- Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately
- Support other Estates team members when required
- Work safely and adhere to Health & Safety policies at all times
Requirements
Essential
- City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance
- Fault-finding and diagnostic experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence (desirable)
Desirable
- Previous experience within a hospital, healthcare, or large commercial environment
- Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent)
- Experience working on critical building services systems
