Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a committed and experienced Cleaning Operative to work for a company in Reading

Role: Cleaning Operative

Salary: £12.71

Location: Reading (RG14 5AW)

Hours: 15 per week

Key Responsibilities of the Cleaning Operative:

• Dust, sweep, vacuum, mop floors, and empty waste bins.
• Wipe down desks, chairs, and other surfaces, ensuring any marks or stubborn stains are removed.
• Clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, and associated washroom facilities.
• Vacuum carpeted areas and carry out spot cleaning where required.
• Operate electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to burnish, scrub, polish, and clean floors.
• Clean internal windows and glass surfaces, ensuring they are smear-free and properly dried.
• Replenish consumable items such as soap, toilet rolls, paper towels, and other hygiene products.
• Carry out deep cleaning tasks and special cleaning projects as requested.
• Use cleaning chemicals and agents safely and in accordance with instructions provided by the Supervisor.
• Move equipment and furniture for storage purposes or to support office reconfigurations and relocations.
• Ensure all cleaning activities are carried out in line with Health and Safety policies, company procedures, and industry best practices.
• Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns identified during cleaning duties to the appropriate person.

• Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Have excellent attention to detail and take pride in delivering high standards.
• Be physically capable of carrying out cleaning duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Be able to manage time effectively and complete tasks within agreed deadlines.
• Understand the importance of health and safety procedures and follow them at all times.
• Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
