Job description

To provide care and support for residents within the Christian ethos and aims of Corkey House. Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities

• To be a Key Worker/Primary Worker to residents
• To help residents with dressing/undressing where necessary
• To help residents with toileting/bathing where necessary
• To carry out all care tasks with respect for the residents’ privacy and dignity
• To encourage residents to be as active and as independent as possible

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Evidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of older people
• Proficiency in understanding, communicating and writing in English to level required by the duties of the post
• Willing to undertake appropriate training as required
• Awareness of health and safety practices within a working environment
• Basic numeracy required by the duties of the post
• Willing to work additional hours to fulfil the requirements of the Home
• Willing to register with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council within 6 months of appointment

Further Information

Salary: £12.90 per hour (no NVQ), £12.96 per hour with NVQ/QCF level 2 in Health & Social Care, £13.00 per hour with NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care. Work Time: Shifts, to be worked flexibly across the rota, Please note 18 hours per week also available.
